Not to mention PoCo, Game Freak and Nintendo have little to do with building and maintaining it.
That is more than every other Pokémon game sold combined, but I’m wondering if The Pokémon Company still views it as “lesser” given its stripped-down functionality and separation from the core series. The fact is that it is the single biggest game in the Pokémon series with 650+ million downloads worldwide. I really don’t know how The Pokémon Company feels about GO. It would seem smart to constantly encourage GO players to check out fully-fledged games in the series on 3DS, and conversely, it would be good to encourage core players to play GO as well to keep those numbers up. I’m not sure if this is the first time this has happened, but maybe? I can’t think of another example. I’m a little bit surprised that The Pokémon Company hasn’t cross-promoted with GO more often.
